Process of aldol condensation by gas-phase reaction

Abstract: A process of aldol condensation of an active hydrogen-containing compound by a gas-phase reaction by feeding a gaseous active hydrogen-containing compound to a reactor provided with a fixed bed solid catalyst, which process is characterized in that an indirect heat transfer type, non-isothermal reactor is used to perform the aldol condensation efficiently in a commercial scale.
