Enhanced longevity of surface drying oil on a sealant modified by incorporation of zinc oxide

Abstract: The longevity of a surface driving oil layer on a room temperature vulcanizable silicone sealant is increased by adding zinc oxide to a non-acidic composition and exposing the composition to atmospheric moisture which forms the surface drying oil layer on an air exposed surface.
