Abstract: Compounds described by the chemical structural formula ##STR1## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, are useful in the treatment of pain, migraine, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and in the treatment of neuropathies including postherpetic neuralgia, central pain from spinal cord injury, and phantom limb pain.
